I started personal training with Ken about four months ago to improve my fitness and general wellbeing. I have tried gyms, and personal training before however the thing that made it different this time is that ken has worked with me to understand what it is that I wanted from the training and then has worked with me to tailor a training program that is helping me achieve my goals and importantly fitting it in to the time that I have available. The variety of exercises has been fantastic and the improvement in my general fitness and strength both satisfying and motivating. Ken has pushed my past my personal limits and I am certainly feeling and seeing the results that I have always wanted which has led to changes in both my personal and work life with increased confidence and happiness with who I am.

Originally, I signed up for a 6 week program for personal training with Ken Woodward. That was back in June 2008, I was 51 years old and hadn't exercised for many years. As you can imagine I was very unfit and unmotivated. I also had a sore back, ankles with only 5% movement and a kneecap slipping which caused a lot of problems walking and climbing stairs. My physiotherapist gave me exercises of course which helped temporarily but I really needed a longer term solution. That's where personal training came in. With a great deal of patience but steely determination, Ken has helped me to overcome these problems through one session of personal training per week. I now have no back pain, my ankles have good movement and I have no further trouble with my knees. My fitness level is much improved and I feel much stronger and healthier. I am now enjoying bushwalking over rough terrain. Initially, training was a chore but it is now one of my favourite activities. Ken keeps the classes interesting with lots of variety, he uses just the right amount of push (and I need a bit of pushing!) and he is very encouraging. In fact I'm enjoying the classes so much that I'm opting for a second class each week. Personal training has been an investment in me that has returned significant benefits in terms of both my short term and long term health and fitness and I'm worth it!
